Job Summary: As an Irrigation Technician 1, you will service residential and commercial properties' irrigation systems in a solo role as well as on a crew. Servicing includes performing routine maintenance such as spring startup, monthly checks, winterization/blow-outs, and level 1 irrigation repairs. Additional experience will be gained while assisting with irrigation system installations, level 2 & 3 repairs, and troubleshooting measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair irrigation system components including pipe, heads & controllers, low voltage lighting, pond fountains/bubblers, and water feature pump & filtration systems
- Document time, materials, and important job notes in mobile work order system before leaving each job site
- Walk the property to verify quality of work prior to leaving each job site; photograph and report any damage that occurred during the visit
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines during repair tasks.Learn Basic Installation Skills:
- Participate in irrigation system installations, including digging trenches, laying pipes, setting heads, and programming controller for complete operation.
- Gain / maintain certified Backflow Preventer for State of Iowa
- Attend training sessions and courses for continuing education
Compensation
- $19.53-$25/hr (based on experience)
