Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer to support product development and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for creating accurate 2D/3D designs, developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure designs are production-ready and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Fusion 360 (or similar CAD platforms)
- Develop, manage, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in Microsoft Excel and/or ERP systems
- Translate conceptual designs into detailed manufacturing drawings with proper tolerances and specifications
- Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
- Update and revise drawings and BOMs based on engineering changes and production feedback
- Assist with prototyping, testing, and product improvement initiatives
- Ensure documentation is organized, version-controlled, and compliant with company standards
- Support cost reduction and efficiency improvement efforts through design optimization
- Other tasks as deemed necessary by the business.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Autodesk Fusion 360 or similar 3D CAD software
- Strong experience creating and managing BOMs
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data organization, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Familiarity with CNC, woodworking, or metal fabrication processes
- Basic knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
- Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) principles
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move across the production floor for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment with exposure to woodworking materials, adhesives, and production equipment.
- Ability to lift or move components up to 50 pounds as needed.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
