Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agriculture and animal husbandry, with hands-on experience operating various types of farm machinery and equipment. This role requires a combination of mechanical knowledge, supervisory experience, and a passion for animal care. The Equipment Operator will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our agricultural processes while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including skidsteers, and farm machinery, ensuring optimal performance.
- Supervise and train team members in equipment operation and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Handle animals with care, ensuring their health and well-being through proper animal husbandry practices.
- Assist in planting, growing, and harvesting crops using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become significant problems.
- Maintain accurate records related to equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and crop yields.
- Successfully operate a TMR mixer according to batch sheets to provide nutritious meals to the cattle.
Requirements
- Proven experience in operating heavy machinery within an agricultural setting.
- Basic mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and animal care is essential.
- Experience with horticulture, greenhouse operations, or farming is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating needs related to farming operations.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
