Weekend Enrichment Facilitator & Canine Coach Fetch Dog Resort | Indianapolis, IN
Part-Time | Saturdays & Sundays | $15–$18/hour
Are you the person who goes to a party and immediately asks, “Where’s the dog?”
Excellent. We may have found your weekend job.
Fetch Dog Resort is looking for a Weekend Enrichment Technician & Canine Coach to spend Saturdays and Sundays doing something much more interesting than folding sweaters, running a cash register, or asking people if they’d like fries with that.
You'll be working with dogs.
Lots of dogs.
Big dogs. Little dogs. Goofy dogs. Shy dogs. Dogs who think tennis balls are a personality trait.
And while playing with dogs is definitely part of the job, this isn’t just playtime.
Job Description
At Fetch, daycare is about more than wearing dogs out. Our enrichment program is designed to help dogs think, explore, build confidence, practice good social skills, and have ridiculously fun days.
You’ll help:
- Lead enrichment activities, games and sensory experiences
- Coach dogs through appropriate play and social interactions
- Learn canine body language and behavior
- Build relationships with the dogs in your care
- Keep play areas clean, organized and safe
- Help with feeding, potty breaks and general care
- Take photos and capture some of the fun
- Give our weekend guests plenty of attention, encouragement and affection
Some days you might set up a puzzle.
Some days you might run the dogs through an agility course
Some days you may find yourself playing in the splash zone having as much fun as the dogs
This is normal here.
Who Would Love This Job?
This could be a great fit for a college student who wants consistent weekend hours or an adult looking for rewarding part-time work.
You don't need to be a professional dog trainer.
You do need to be:
Dependable. Dogs don't understand “I overslept.”
Observant. You'll learn to notice what dogs are communicating before they ever bark.
Active. This is not a sit-at-a-desk kind of job.
Patient. Dogs, much like humans, occasionally make questionable decisions.
Positive. We believe dogs learn best when they're supported, encouraged and understood.
And, of course, you should genuinely enjoy dogs—not just the cute fluffy ones on Instagram.
The Schedule
This position works both Saturday and Sunday with split shifts:
Morning: 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
Evening: 4:30 PM–8:30 PM
That means you work approximately 18 hours each weekend while still having the middle of your day free.
Yes, 7:00 AM is early.
The dogs will already be awake.
Pay
$15–$18/hour, depending on experience.
More importantly, you'll gain hands-on experience with canine behavior, enrichment, group play, dog handling and relationship-focused pet care.
This can be an especially fun opportunity for students interested in animal science, veterinary medicine, animal behavior, psychology, education or other animal-related careers.
Why Fetch?
For more than 20 years, Fetch Dog Resort has been caring for Indianapolis dogs while continually rethinking what great dog care should look like.
We believe dogs deserve more than supervision.
They deserve relationships, enrichment, thoughtful care and people who genuinely enjoy getting to know them.
Our team doesn't just watch dogs.
We enrich dog's lives in everything we do.
If spending your weekend helping dogs become happier, more confident versions of themselves sounds significantly better than your average part-time job, we'd love to meet you.
