Overview:
We are looking for a Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to build on the current success of the Commonwealth restaurant at Snoqualmie Pass. The Commonwealth has been a community centerpiece over the last 10 years for The Pass Life – a residential development at Snoqualmie Pass at the base of The Summit at Snoqualmie ski area. Come ski, bike, snowboard, hike, paddle – and lead the growth of one of the best mountain restaurants in the Northwest!
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee all aspects of culinary operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership abilities, and extensive experience in menu planning, kitchen management, and food preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute innovative seasonal menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and customer preferences.
- Oversee all food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring high quality and consistency.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards, complying with health and safety regulations.
- Control kitchen costs, including inventory management, portion control, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations, optimizing workflow and staff productivity.
- Monitor customer feedback and adapt menu offerings accordingly.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, international cuisines, and food presentation.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of budgeting, food cost control, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Creativity and a passion for culinary excellence.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
