American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or Level II trauma center experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I and Level II Trauma Center hospital
-
Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 11:00-23:00)
-
36 or 48 hours per week, with weekend shifts required
-
Scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs and block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
-
Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays

Time off cannot be approved around Labor Day

Uses Epic EMR
-
Floating required within scope of practice as needed
-
Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted, must be in hand before start date)

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending but required before start)

Minimum 2 years of ER experience required

At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience required, including some pediatric experience

Epic EMR experience required

BSN preferred
-
Provide emergency department nursing care including triage and trauma response

Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off (RTO) per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after offer acceptance

Any planned vacation between sign date and start date must be disclosed to allow for an appropriate start date

Longer assignment length available through 01/02/2027

Previous UVA Health permanent staff or travelers must have at least 1 year separation before returning, subject to leadership approval
-
External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
