Job Overview
American Shotcrete is seeking a Part Time with opportunity of Full Time dynamic and skilled Shotcrete Finisher to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be assigned to a "crew lead" with a team of up to 4 additional employees.
The finisher will be responsible for utilizing company supplied finishing tools and equipment to finish shotcrete (sprayed concrete) efficiently and accurately on various construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure the accuracy of application, structural integrity and safety of our projects, contributing to innovative and durable infrastructure. We specialize in pool shotcrete applications and are seeking hardworking individuals who want long-term employment with a company that values its employees.
Pay
- Piecework / Commission (per project) based on yardage of project
- Averages between $25.00 - $55.00 per hour depending on project scope
Shift and schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Experience with concrete finishing and/or pool shotcrete work
- Assisting in verification of form and surrounding area to ensure all the reinforcement (rebar, concrete substrate, Masonite, etc.) is properly installed and ready for shotcrete.
- Set up, operate, and clean shotcrete equipment—primarily for swimming pools, with occasional work on other heavy construction projects.
- Help set wires for projects prior to shooting shotcrete.
- Maintains and checks equipment daily, informing Superintendent/Foreman of any needed maintenance on equipment.
- Assist with material handling, equipment set up, pre / post project site inspection documentation and cleanup.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper use of equipment (e.g., shotcrete pumps, compressors, hoses)
- Maintains professional working relationships with other crew members and on-site customers
- Complies with site safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with company policies and procedures.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
- Collaborate and communicate with project managers and other team members to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Compensation – American Shotcrete has a very competitive total compensation package available for Full Time Employee status as outlined below:
- Company work vehicles and equipment provided – Safety gear provided on day of orientation. Uniforms provided after 90 days with occasional company provided additional pieces throughout the year.
- Competitive wages - The pay range for this position is based on relevant experience and yardage of material per project completed.
- Healthcare benefits – Full Time Employees are eligible to enroll for family healthcare insurance. New hire coverage begins on the first of the month following 60 days of employment as long as you enroll within 60 days of becoming eligible. Annual enrollment is open starting in September.

- 401k plan – Full Time Employees are eligible to enroll for this benefit after 1 year of employment. After approval, the company will match your contribution, up to 4% on a sliding scale.

Required Qualifications for this position:
- Must be familiar with the operation and safety procedures of concrete pumping equipment, compressors, and hoses.
- Job history of finishing shotcrete / concrete
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and professionally with crew members.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks requiring strength and stamina.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work.
- Must have working understanding of forming, grades and screeding of shotcrete surfaces.
Other Requirements:
- Criminal background check required, but a criminal record does not necessarily negate employment.
- Clean motor vehicle report and current driver's license required to be insured and operate company vehicle.
- Drug screen NOT required for employment but can be required subsequently if warranted.
- ACI Certified Shotcrete (Wet Mix Process) preferred but not required.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions and be exposed to varying temperatures (high and low) and loud noises.
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, lift above the head, bend to the waist, squat, talk, hear, and lift, move or push up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include near, far, and color vision. Ascend or descend stairs and ladders, as well as walk on uneven terrain.
Pay: $25.00 - $55.00 per hour
