Sheet Metal Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication equipment, blueprint interpretation, precision part manufacturing, and field installation of formed metal components. Candidates must be detail-oriented and capable of producing high-quality work within tight tolerances.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate hydraulic shear equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate CNC press brake machinery to form sheet metal components.
- Operate CNC plasma table for precision cutting applications.
- Operate iron worker machines for fabrication processes.
- Design and modify formed and cut parts in the field as required.
- Install formed metal components using various fastening methods, including:
- Buck rivets
- Pop rivets
- Type F bolts
- VHB tape
- Acrylic adhesives
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Manufacture parts to a tolerance of ±1/32 inch.
- Maintain quality standards throughout fabrication and installation processes.
- Perform TIG welding on thin-gauge stainless steel and aluminum when required (preferred but not required).
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of CNC press brake experience.
- Minimum 1 year of hydraulic shear experience.
- Minimum 1 year of CNC plasma table experience.
- Minimum 1 year of iron worker machine experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing formed and cut parts in the field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience installing formed metal parts and assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances and quality control.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- TIG welding experience with thin-gauge stainless steel and aluminum (22 gauge through 1/8 inch) is a plus but welding is not required for this position.
