The Deli Clerk will be responsible for assisting customers at the deli counter, preparing and serving deli products, and ensuring the deli area is clean and well-stocked. This position demands excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Deli Clerk is enthusiastic about food, organized, and committed to providing a high-quality experience for customers. Additionally, the Deli Clerk will support the hot bar operations, including frying chicken and serving hot meals.
Responsibilities

Assist customers with their deli selections, providing recommendations and answering questions

Prepare deli products including slicing meats and cheeses, making sandwiches, and packaging items

Prepare hot bar items as needed

Serve customers at the hot bar, ensuring a consistent supply of fresh and well-prepared food

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli and hot bar areas, including sanitizing work surfaces and equipment

Ensure deli cases and hot bar are stocked and visually appealing, rotating products as needed

Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures

Provide excellent customer service, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally

Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve department goals

Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking deliveries

Assist with bakery stocking as needed

Prepare and serve sandwiches at the MLK Fresh Station as needed
