Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning by preparing daily specials and ensuring ingredient availability
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, mixers, and slicers safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality in all meal preparations
- Support the kitchen team by slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using knife skills and slicing techniques
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal production and smooth service flow
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or dietary departments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Strong food preparation skills including cooking, food handling, and recipe adherence
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and support team efforts
- Experience with meal preparation, catering, or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items safely, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
