Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems using OEM schematics and advanced diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, farm equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by analyzing schematics and troubleshooting guides to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Assist in the assembly of new machinery or equipment components following manufacturer specifications and schematics.
- Perform routine inspections such as tire service, brake repair, suspension checks, alignment adjustments, HVAC servicing, and general vehicle maintenance to prevent downtime.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment servicing is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, electrical diagnostics, and HVAC systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of working with schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and testing equipment for automotive and industrial repairs.
- Experience working with OEM parts for Caterpillar, John Deere, or similar brands; familiarity with construction machinery maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients about repair needs and timelines.
