Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a supportive school district in Lawrence, Kansas to hire Special Education Teachers for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking dedicated educators to support students across various grade levels and program needs, including autism, emotional disabilities, and resource support.
Contract Details
- Assignment Dates: August 10, 2026 through May 21, 2027
- Schedule: 41-week school year
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week | 7.5 hours per day
- Shift: Typically 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM
Current Openings & School Assignments
- Emotional Disabilities Teacher: Middle School (Grades 6-8)
- Autism Teacher: Elementary (Grades K-5)
- Resource Teachers (Multiple Openings): Elementary (Grades K-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and High School
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide differentiated instruction aligned to student needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support teams
- Monitor student progress and maintain documentation
- Support behavioral and academic interventions
Qualifications
- Active state Special Education Teaching License required
- Experience with autism, emotional disabilities, or resource settings preferred
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs
