In this vital role, you will provide a FUN and safe environment, companionship, assist with essential tasks including meal prep and engage in behavioral management strategies. Whether working in our private residence or out in the community, your role will be invaluable. Duties
- Provide companionship, conversation and person-centered care to residents while engaging in social and recreational activities.
- Responsibly provide transportation for client to community and social engagements i.e. library, bingo, bowling, walks, shopping, etc...
- Create and implement engaging activities to keep client active and interested...i.e. games, puzzles, exercise, art projects, etc.
- Employ behavioral strategies to mitigate challenging situations.
- Support client with medication reminders.
- Follow nutrition guidelines and assist in healthy food choices and meal prep.
- Observe and communicate to management any changes in client behaviors and/or health status to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Encourage client to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Follow all privacy regulations including HIPAA standards to protect residents’ confidentiality at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience working as companion care attendant, DSP, CNA, PCA or RMA in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or ADHD, or cognitive impairments and/or epilepsy.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration protocols, and vital signs monitoring is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills, redirection techniques and de-escalation strategies combined with patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this role.
Requirements:
- Reliable personal transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance and clean driving record.
- Background check is required.
- First Aid/CPR cert. or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to solve problems quickly, provide alternative solutions and mitigate challenging environments and situations. De-escalation techniques and ABA strategies required. Will provide training to right candidate.
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and follow HIPPA regulations.
- Ability to esign, have paperwork notarized and submitted in a timely fashion.
- No smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, tobacco or marijuana use. No illegal substance use or abuse or under the influence of alcohol.

Pay: $13.66 - $18.66 per hour
