Job description:
OVERALL PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Food Service Dishwasher/Server/Cashier is responsible for the day to day operations of the District’s food service program. This position assists the Food Service Director in ensuring the District’s program complies with local, state, and federal agency requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wash all dishes and cookware related to the food service program.
- Assist serving food.
- Assist in replenishing service lines.
- Report any failures to maintain proper food safety practices to Food Service Director.
- Assists in daily clean up and sanitary processes.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining and practicing the highest quality of safety and cleanliness procedures.
- Maintain all production sheets correctly.
- Attend mandatory training as directed by the Food Service Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
JOB SPECIFICATION
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team setting.
- Knowledge of food service preparation.
- Thorough knowledge of health and safety procedures that are set in place.
- Must be able to work independently and carry out oral/written tasks with little direction.
- Discreetly handle information pertaining to students and families.
- Maintain high levels of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidate must be 18 years of age, with a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, hold a high school or equivalent diploma, and pass a background check. Must have or be willing to obtain food safety certificate. Food service/preparation experience desired. Basic computer and math skills required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent mental concentration is necessary for listening and responding to various situations. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds unassisted may occur. Must be flexible and have stamina for standing long periods of time. Must be able to adapt to temperature changes. Some twisting, bending, and turning is required. Work hours are generally during normal school day hours but may require some after hours as directed by the District Administrator. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or illegal substance in the workplace in compliance with Policy 3122.01 throughout his/her employment in the District
