About Oat Mode
Oat Mode is a quick-service oat and yogurt bowl concept opening this fall in Portland's Old Port. We build made-to-order bowls and smoothies around a simple idea: real ingredients, real speed, real energy for people with busy days. Our first location opens with a soft launch in early October and grand opening November 1. Employee training will begin a week prior to the soft launch.
What You'll Do
As an Oatsmith, you'll prepare made-to-order oat bowls, yogurt bowls, and smoothies, work the assembly line, keep the store stocked and clean, and greet customers throughout your shift. Everyone on the team rotates through prep, the assembly line, cleaning duties, and customer service, so responsibility for running a smooth shift is shared evenly rather than falling on one or two people. Oat Mode also operates on a distributed leadership model, so instead of one manager directing the whole shift, leadership is spread across defined areas and each person carries real authority within their own domain while reporting to teammates who lead elsewhere.
As you show strength in shared duties and take initiative, employees on the Marketing & Growth Track will have the opportunity to take on leadership of Oat Mode's marketing efforts, including social media and website content, sponsorship coordination, event planning, and incentive program development. This growth starts in-store, and as Oat Mode builds out its national headquarters in Maine, it can lead to a corporate role on the marketing and growth side of a growing company. What We're Looking For
- Available for a mix of early morning, lunch, and weekend shifts Comfortable on your feet in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong communicator who works well with a team, not just alongside one Food handler certification, or willingness to obtain one Prior food service or retail experience helpful, not required Interest or experience in social media, content creation, or brand storytelling Creative thinker who enjoys planning promotions, events, or partnerships
