Position Responsibilities
- Safely transport ambulatory and wheelchair patients to medical appointments, dialysis treatments, hospital discharges, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare destinations
- Assist passengers with professionalism, patience, and compassion
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicle
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, healthcare staff, patients, and families
- Complete vehicle inspections and follow company safety standards
- Represent Shannon NEMT in a professional manner at all times
Physical Requirements
This position is active and requires team members to regularly:
- Sit for extended periods while driving
- Stand for periods throughout the day
- Walk long distances at hospitals and healthcare facilities
- Kneel, bend, and assist with passenger securement
- Push and maneuver occupied wheelchairs safely
- Enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the shift
Applicants should be comfortable working in various weather conditions and maintaining a physically active workday.
Schedule Requirements
- Standard shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or Monday- Friday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- At least one scheduled weekend per month is required
- Occasional overtime opportunities available based on operational needs

Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Customer service or healthcare transportation experience preferred (but not required)
