Oncology Technician, RVT
We are seeking an Oncology Technician to join our team as we prepare to open a state-of-the-art, independent emergency and specialty hospital in south Denver in 2026. We will offer 24/7 emergency care and a full range of specialty services.

Job Summary
The Registered Veterinary Technician (Oncology) plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of exceptional cancer care by partnering closely with board-certified medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, specialty clinicians, and the multidisciplinary care team. This individual is responsible for providing advanced nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment while assisting with chemotherapy administration, radiation therapy support, diagnostic procedures, anesthesia, treatments, client education, and ongoing case management. The RVT serves as a compassionate advocate for both patients and their families, helping ensure continuity of care while supporting clients through every stage of their pet's cancer journey.
The ideal candidate is a credentialed veterinary technician with a strong interest in oncology, exceptional technical and communication skills, and a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities
Chemotherapy & Treatments
· Safely prepare, administer, and monitor chemotherapy treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and OSHA safety standards
· Assist with immunotherapy, targeted therapies, blood product administration, and supportive care treatments
· Educate clients on chemotherapy expectations, side effects, and home care instructions
Patient Care & Case Management
· Provide compassionate nursing care for oncology patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
· Monitor hospitalized and outpatient oncology patients, recognizing and responding to changes in patient status
· Support long-term management of cancer patients while ensuring accurate documentation and continuity of care
Diagnostics & Procedures
· Assist with oncology diagnostics including blood collection, imaging support, fine needle aspirates, bone marrow aspirates, biopsies, and staging procedures
· Prepare and monitor patients undergoing sedation or anesthesia for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Collaboration
· Work closely with medical and radiation oncologists, emergency clinicians, surgeons, and specialty teams to coordinate individualized treatment plans
· Partner with clients to provide education, emotional support, and guidance throughout their pet's cancer journey
Qualifications
· Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT, CVT, or LVT) required
· Minimum 2+ years of experience in veterinary emergency and/or specialty medicine preferred
· Chemotherapy handling experience preferred
· Experience with oncology nursing, anesthesia, or critical care strongly preferred
· Strong technical skills and clinical knowledge across multiple service areas
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally complex specialty environment
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
