Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting & HR Generalist to oversee key accounting, payroll, and human resources functions. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, extensive hands-on experience with QuickBooks, payroll administration, and the ability to independently manage confidential employee and financial information.
The Accounting & HR Generalist will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, processing payroll, supporting human resources functions, and assisting management with financial and operational reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, trustworthy, and capable of working independently while identifying opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
Accounting Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly accounting functions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Reconcile credit cards
- Manage accounts receivable and customer invoicing.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.
- Analyze financial information and identify unusual transactions, discrepancies, or variances.
Payroll/HR Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and timely in accordance with company payroll schedules.
- Review employee timecards, hours worked, overtime, PTO, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
- Process new hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions, and other employee changes.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2s and other required reporting.
- Track employee PTO, leave, attendance, and other applicable employee information.
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, HR policies, and procedures as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting, payroll, and/or HR experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
Position Expectations
This position is expected to operate with a high degree of independence and ownership. The individual must be capable of identifying accounting, payroll, HR, and process issues without relying on management to identify problems first. The successful candidate will be expected to understand not only how to perform transactions, but also why transactions are recorded a certain way, how they affect the financial statements, and how processes can be improved to increase accuracy and efficiency.
The position requires a high level of judgment, accountability, attention to detail, and technical proficiency in QuickBooks and accounting operations.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
