We are a busy 2 doctor small animal practice looking for an associate to join our team. We are a locally owned practice offering out-patient care, surgery, in- house laboratory services, radiology, ultrasound, boarding and grooming. Our staff prides itself on educating clients and having that personal connection that is less seen in our world today. We currently do not offer after-hours work. We are open Monday through Friday. Looking for the right individual to join our clinic family. The position we offer has a salary of $125k with health insurance allowance and CE expense allowance.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough examinations and diagnose health issues in small animals, including dogs and cats, utilizing veterinary terminology and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Develop and implement treatment plans encompassing internal medicine, dentistry, surgery, cardiology, oncology, anesthesiology, and critical care procedures.
- Administer general anesthesia and monitor animal physiology during surgical procedures while applying aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Handle animal restraint and animal handling techniques effectively to minimize stress and ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Provide emergency medicine services, including critical & intensive care management for urgent cases requiring immediate attention.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care instructions to foster trust and understanding.
- Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary terminology and laboratory experience to support accurate documentation of treatments administered.
- Collaborate with team members on complex cases involving exotic animal medicine or specialized procedures such as animal catheterization or laboratory diagnostics.
Skills
- Extensive veterinary experience with proficiency in general surgery, veterinary dentistry, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
- Strong knowledge of animal restraint, animal anatomy knowledge, and animal husbandry practices to ensure safe handling of diverse species.
- Expertise in anesthesiology, including administering anesthesia and managing anesthesia-related complications.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for high-quality patient management.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners about pet care, treatment plans, and preventive health strategies.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology combined with a passion for continuous learning about veterinary medicine advancements such as cardiology or oncology treatments.
