Coursework includes topics such as free-market economics, entrepreneurship, monetary policy, constitutional government, economic history, and public policy.Candidates should be familiar with the Austrian School of Economics and the broader classical liberal tradition, including the writings of Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich A. Hayek, Walter E.
Williams, Thomas Sowell, and other influential economists and political philosophers.The successful candidate will inspire students to think critically, analyze evidence, and engage respectfully in thoughtful discussions of economic and civic issues.Essential ResponsibilitiesTeach Economics courses for students in Grades 912.Develop engaging lessons that promote analytical thinking, economic literacy, and evidence-based reasoning.Teach topics including free-market economics, entrepreneurship, monetary systems, economic history, incentives, and public policy.Introduce students to foundational economic texts and primary source readings.Design lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, the school's instructional philosophy, and, where applicable, International Baccalaureate (IB) standards.Foster thoughtful classroom discussion, analytical writing, and respectful debate.Assess student learning through essays, projects, presentations, quizzes, and examinations.Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.Communicate regularly with students, families, and school leadership regarding academic progress.Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices.Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations consistent with the school's mission.Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and other school responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Political Economy, History, Public Policy, or a closely related field required; master's degree preferred.Massachusetts licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in Economics, History, or Social Studies preferred.Strong knowledge of economic theory, economic history, and the institutions of a free-market economy.Familiarity with the Austrian School of Economics and the classical liberal tradition.Knowledge of the writings of Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich A. Hayek, Walter E.
