Job Summary
The Receptionist serves as the welcoming first point of contact for Crossover Mission, providing professional, courteous, and responsive support to students, families, volunteers, donors, visitors, staff and community partners. This position is responsible for managing the front desk, incoming communications, visitor access, and general administrative support to help ensure the organization operates efficiently and presents a warm, organized, and mission-centered environment.
Professional Qualifications

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 5+ years of business and communications experience required, nonprofit experience a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to transparency, professionalism, and high ethical standards.
- Friendly, self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take a hands-on approach to daily responsibilities.
- Strong organizational, planning and task-facilitation skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable using office technology, including phones, email, Google Suite, Microsoft Office or similar software, calendars, and digital filing systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement in handling sensitive information.
- Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
General Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead receptionist for Crossover Mission, greeting visitors and providing a welcoming, professional first impression.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls in a courteous and timely manner.
- Receive and assist students, families, volunteers, donors, vendors, and other visitors at the front desk. This includes managing parents at pickup times.
- Maintain an updated internal phone directory and other reception-related contact information.
- Check voicemail daily, return or route messages as appropriate, and update the voicemail system when necessary.
- Monitor and maintain the East-door buzzer and video entrance system to support safe and appropriate visitor access.
- Maintain an orderly, welcoming, and well-stocked reception area.
- Manage visitor sign-in and sign-out procedures utilizing Crossover Mission approved security database.
- Take and maintain student attendance records, track late arrivals, issue late pickup fee notices when applicable, and remain on-site until all students have been picked up and safely released.
- Assist with package deliveries, and other front-office needs.
- Provide general administrative support to staff, including filing, copying, scanning, data entry, calendar support, and preparation of basic correspondence or materials.
- Support organizational events, meetings, and program activities through front-office coordination and administrative assistance.
- Communicate concerns, visitor issues, facility needs, or safety matters promptly to the appropriate staff member.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of Crossover Mission's programs, operations, and mission.
Reporting Relationship and Work Enviroment
The position reports directly to the Director of Programs and Director of Operations. Work is primarily in the front-office setting with regular interaction with youth, families, staff, volunteers, donors, and community members. The Receptionist must be able to maintain a calm, welcoming, and professional presence in a busy and mission-drive environment.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
