POSITION SUMMARY
Leads the Housekeeping Department and ensures guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house spaces meet hotel cleanliness, safety, presentation, and guest-service standards. Manages staff, labor, supplies, room readiness, and departmental quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate housekeeping and laundry staff.
- Assign daily room boards and duties based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and hotel needs.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness, condition, proper setup, and readiness for sale.
- Coordinate with Front Desk on room status, priority rooms, early arrivals, late checkouts, room moves, and out-of-order rooms.
- Report maintenance concerns and follow up with Maintenance to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain deep-cleaning schedules and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.
- Manage linen, towel, amenity, chemical, and cleaning-supply inventory; maintain proper par levels and control waste.
- Oversee laundry operations and monitor productivity, linen availability, and quality.
- Respond professionally to guest housekeeping requests and cleanliness concerns.
- Maintain proper lost-and-found procedures and protect guest belongings.
- Ensure chemicals, equipment, carts, storage areas, and workspaces are safely maintained and properly used.
- Monitor labor, attendance, productivity, payroll, and departmental expenses.
- Participate in hotel leadership communication and support overall guest satisfaction and operational goals.
LEADERSHIP & STANDARDS
Lead by example and maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable workplace. Follow hotel policies, applicable safety requirements, and current IHG brand standards. Provide ongoing training, recognition, coaching, and corrective action when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Hotel housekeeping supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills required. Must be able to manage multiple priorities, work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, and perform the physical functions of the position with reasonable accommodation where required.
