Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to install, configure, and support residential and commercial low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in pre-wire installations, audiovisual systems, networking, security, and smart home technologies.
This position requires someone who is professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with homeowners, builders, and other trades.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential and commercial low-voltage pre-wire installations
- Install and terminate CAT6, fiber, coaxial, and speaker wiring
- Mount and install televisions, soundbars, speakers, and AV equipment
- Install security cameras and video doorbells
- Install and configure home networking equipment including routers, switches, wireless access points, and network racks
- Install motorized window shades and related control systems
- Install structured wiring panels and equipment racks
- Troubleshoot wiring and equipment issues
- Read blueprints and construction plans
- Maintain organized, clean, and professional job sites
- Communicate clearly with homeowners, builders, and project managers
- Complete projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship
Preferred Experience
Ideal candidates will have experience with many of the following:
- Residential and commercial low-voltage installation
- Structured cabling
- Home theater installation
- Television mounting
- Whole-home audio systems
- Security camera systems
- Network installation and troubleshooting
- Smart home integration
- Motorized shades
- Rack building and cable management
Experience with industry-leading brands such as Control4, Lutron, Sonos, Ubiquiti, Araknis, WattBox, Snap One products, Ring, Alarm.com, Yale, August, and similar manufacturers is highly preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional low-voltage installation experience (preferred)
- Strong understanding of residential construction
- Ability to safely use ladders and power tools
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, and construction environments
