Job Summary:
Salas O’Brien is looking for a personable Construction Administrator Assistant to join our team! The right candidate will provide all construction administration services for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems designed by Salas O’Brien for various projects.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for downloading/uploading construction submittals/shop drawings and request for information (RFI) received from client and/or contractor. Tasks include being responsible for all design projects that Irving/Tyler offices are responsible for.
- Should the Irving/Tyler offices be working with other Salas O’Brien offices this individual will be responsible for transmitting construction submittals/shop drawings and request for information (RFI) to and from other Salas O’Brien office personnel.
- Maintaining construction logs including submittals/shop drawings and request for information (RFI) logs.
- This individual is not responsible for reviewing, answering or in any way addressing the construction submittals/shop drawings and request for information (RFI). This is a purely administrative support role.
- Following up with engineers, Directors, and/or Project Managers to ensure timely delivery of submittal reviews and RFI responses.
- Participating in internal construction administration progress meetings and preparing meeting-minutes when required.
- Provides administrative support and performs related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficient with MS Office. Experience in managing Smart Sheets is a plus but not required.
- Excellent work ethic and attitude.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work.
- Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment.
