Work Location: In Person in Santa Rosa (Sonoma County) CA
The DVS Manager provides leadership, supervision, performance management, and training to staff and volunteers within the Domestic Violence Services (DVS) program. Directs the planning, implementation, and evaluation of services while strengthening YWCA Sonoma County’s community presence in alignment with its vision, mission, and goals.
- This is an exempt, salaried position and the manager is expected to work a standard Monday to Friday, 8:00-5:00 schedule, acknowledging that additional time may be needed to complete assignments on an as need basis.
- Must live within 15 miles of Santa Rosa, CA and the manager is expected to maintain frequent on-call availability and responds promptly to calls from clients, law enforcement, hospitals, and other emergency situations during and outside of regular business hours.
The Domestic Violence Services (DVS) Manager oversees all domestic violence programs at YWCA Sonoma County, including the confidential Safe House, Moving Into Safety program, and community partner initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three to five years’ experience in the field of domestic violence, crisis intervention, shelter setting or other non-profit organization which provides services to under-served populations.
- Two years minimum of progressive responsibility supervising multiple programs and staff including responsibility for the planning, organization, implementation and supervision of varied programs.
- Proficient in Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Suite, database reporting with the capacity and willingness to learn additional software.
- Cooperative, diplomatic, and able to relate well with staff and clients from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Possess a clear understanding of domestic violence and sexual assault issues, survivor-centered and empowerment-based services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in a language other than English, specifically Spanish or other locally significant languages, strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Human Services, Counseling, or Social Services preferred.
- Training and experience in community collaboration, domestic violence, public speaking, conflict resolution and de-escalation skills preferred.
Since 1975, YWCA Sonoma County has served as our community’s only dedicated domestic violence service provider. We operate the County’s only 24/7 Domestic Violence crisis hotline from within the walls of the County’s only confidential Safe House Shelter for adults and children seeking refuge from violence in their own homes. We provide a wide range of services to victims of domestic violence and their children so they can heal, become self-sufficient, and return productively to the community.
