Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for coordinating the shipment of goods, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining efficient warehouse distribution processes. This role plays a vital part in supporting seamless supply chain operations by managing shipping and receiving activities, utilizing warehouse management systems, and ensuring timely delivery of products. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in warehouse environments to contribute to our company's operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments using appropriate packaging materials, ensuring products are securely packed for transit.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load and unload goods efficiently.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track inventory movements, update stock levels, and verify order accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to pick, pack, and fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly.
- Manage shipping documentation, including labels, bills of lading, and customs paperwork when necessary.
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, and stock items appropriately within the warehouse.
- Support inventory control by conducting regular stock counts and reconciling physical stock with system records using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools.
- Assist with order fulfillment processes for e-commerce platforms by ensuring timely picking, packing, and dispatching.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures within a warehouse distribution setting.
- Experience in order picking & packing, stocking, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of basic math skills necessary for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment and documentation.
