Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Gym Cleaner to maintain a pristine, safe, and welcoming environment for our members and staff. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the gym are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and well-maintained. Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of gym floors, equipment, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment such as floor buffers and sanitation tools.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence.
- Use custodial equipment including vacuums, floor buffers, mops, and cleaning carts to ensure all surfaces are spotless and sanitized.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely when moving furniture, cleaning supplies, or equipment in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Maintain cleanliness standards by performing detailed sanitation of high-touch surfaces such as door handles, gym machines, and bathroom fixtures.
- Follow established facilities maintenance procedures to report any damages or repairs needed for equipment or infrastructure.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to member inquiries related to cleanliness or facility concerns while maintaining a positive attitude.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques specific to fitness centers or similar facilities is a plus.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding sanitation standards is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while adhering to safety protocols.
- Background in facilities maintenance or general upkeep roles enhances suitability for this position.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and gym patrons.
