Department Summary
The Ohio University Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of Regional Coordinator and Manager of Library Services.
The Regional Coordinator and Manager of Library Services serves as the primary liaison to Ohio University regional students, faculty, and staff for their assigned regional campus. This position delivers, manages, and assesses services, and curricular and research support on the assigned regional campus. The position will directly supervise the other four regional librarians, including regular meetings with those librarians, guiding their goals for the year, and completing annual evaluations. This position reports through Learning Services, helping to foster a supportive working and learning environment, and advance cross-regional collaboration in communication, instructional approaches, and daily operations.
This position works collaboratively with other Libraries’ staff to ensure equitable access to resources and services, and to advance the strategic goals of the Libraries and the University. It coordinates regional library operations among the five regional libraries to ensure alignment with Learning Services priorities and to develop shared processes and communication structures.

Position Profile

Promotes library services and programs to University community. Manages library catalog and oversee resource use. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to assess needs.
Level Summary
Manages a work unit or a team and has full authority over personnel actions within the work unit. Contributes to the development of the area’s operational plan, ensuring alignment with broader departmental or institutional goals. Accountable for the achievement of the unit’s operational objectives, improving performance and addressing resource needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages a medium-sized team. Directly oversees at least 2.0 FTE employees or one or more supervisors. Has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, manage performance, discharge, assign duties, reward, and discipline employees.
Fiscal Responsibilities
Responsible for managing team or department budgets and resources.
Problem Solving
Addresses departmental or cross-team issues, devises long-term solutions.
Independence of Action
Acts independently, with consultation with senior management.
Communication and Collaboration
Facilitates communication among team and higher-level leadership, builds relationships across University.
Physical Requirements
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs. May be required to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Master’s degree accredited by the American Library Association or equivalent national or international body, 3 or more years of related professional experience, and 3 or more years of supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred experience as an OHIO regional library manager.
Pay Rate
The target salary for this position is $59,000 to $78,000 and is commensurate with the selected candidate’s education and experience while considering internal equity.
