Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked goods including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies following established recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and pastry tools efficiently and safely
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision, creativity, and attention to detail to meet customer specifications
- Maintain a clean workspace by adhering to food safety management protocols and ensuring proper sanitation practices
- Package baked items carefully for retail display or catering orders while ensuring product quality and presentation
- Assist in food production tasks such as measuring ingredients, portioning dough or batter, and assembling finished products
- Support high-volume food production by managing multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to recipe consistency and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in baking or pastry preparation within the food industry or culinary environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment operation
- Knowledge of recipe adherence, cake decorating techniques, and baked goods production processes
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for ingredient measurements and portioning accurately
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with team members and clients when needed
- Experience with catering or large-scale food production is preferred but not mandatory
- High level of cleanliness and organization to maintain a safe, hygienic workspace at all times
