Reporting to the Co-Director of Program & Licensing, the Persimmon Early Learning Bilingual Support Classroom Teacher provides flexible, center-wide instructional support to ensure continuity of care and high-quality learning experiences across the Early Learning Center. Persimmon Early Learning, a program of YWCA Boulder County, is committed to providing exceptional early childhood education in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. This position partners with classroom teaching teams to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, support daily classroom routines, foster positive relationships with children and families, and maintain compliance with Colorado Child Care Licensing regulations while advancing the mission and values of YWCA Boulder County.
The Bilingual Support Classroom Teacher serves as a collaborative teaching professional by providing classroom coverage, supporting teacher breaks and planning time, assisting during staffing shortages, and adapting to the changing operational needs of the Early Learning Center. This position also serves as a bilingual resource for children, families, and staff by communicating effectively in both English and Spanish to promote meaningful family engagement, support dual-language learners, and ensure equitable access to classroom and program information.
Classroom Instruction
- Partner with classroom teaching teams to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning experiences.
- Foster children's social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development.
- Reinforce learning through individual and small-group interactions.
- Support children's independence, curiosity, and positive classroom participation.
- Support dual language learners by communicating with children in both English and Spanish, as appropriate, to encourage language development, comfort, and classroom participation.
Child & Family Engagement
- Build positive relationships with children and families through daily interactions.
- Communicate effectively with English and Spanish speaking families regarding daily classroom routines, children’s experiences, and center information.
- Assist with translating or interpreting routine classroom and program communications for children, families and staff.
- Help foster an inclusive environment by supporting culturally and linguistically responsive interactions throughout the Early Learning Center.
- Assist in observing children's developmental progress and communicate observations to the classroom teaching team.
- Communicate professionally with families regarding daily classroom activities and routines.
- Support consistent, nurturing relationships with children and families across multiple classrooms.
Classroom Leadership & Operations
- Provide classroom coverage across multiple classrooms based on the operational needs of the Early Learning Center.
- Support classroom teaching teams during scheduled breaks, planning time, meetings, and staffing shortages.
- Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to changing classroom assignments throughout the workday.
- Maintain continuity of care by promoting consistent routines and high-quality interactions across all assigned classrooms.
- Maintain safe, organized, and engaging classroom environments.
- Prepare classroom materials and learning spaces to support daily instruction.
- Assist with classroom transitions, meals, rest periods, outdoor play, and other daily routines while maintaining required child-to-staff ratios.
- Collaborate with classroom teaching teams to ensure continuity of care and program consistency.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy when communicating or interpreting information in both English and Spanish.
Compliance & Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with Colorado Child Care Licensing regulations and center policies.
- Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting daily assignments to support the operational and staffing needs of the Early Learning Center.
- Participate in required training, staff meetings, and professional development.
- Collaborate with coworkers and leadership to support program quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Meet Colorado licensing qualifications for an Early Childhood Teacher or Assistant Early Childhood Teacher, as applicable.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand both English and Spanish sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a classroom teaching team.
Preferred
- Associate's degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience working in a licensed early childhood education program.
- Experience with Colorado Shines.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand both English and Spanish sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position.

Pay: $26.50 - $28.50 per hour
