If people have always told you that you are great on the phone, and you actually like being the person who fixes someone's day, read this one.
TLC Electrical has served Dallas-Fort Worth since 2003. When a homeowner's power goes out, or they smell something burning, or half their kitchen outlets quit working, they call us. You are the first voice they hear.
Somebody's house is not working right. They are frustrated, and sometimes they are a little scared, because electrical problems scare people. Your job is to make them feel, inside the first ten seconds, like they called the right place. You listen, you get the details our technicians need, and you get them on the schedule.
That sounds simple. Doing it well is a real skill, and the people who are great at it are worth a lot to this company. We will train you on the exact words that work. What we cannot train is whether you are the kind of person a stranger feels better after talking to.
- Answer the phone before the third ring, every time, with a smile people can hear
- Get the customer's information right the first time, including the spelling of their street
- Ask good questions so we send the right electrician the first time
- Book the appointment and give the customer a clear picture of what happens next
- Let customers know if their technician is running behind, before they have to wonder
- Keep the schedule tight so our electricians stay working and our customers stay happy
- Check in with the techs during the day and keep the board moving
- $20 to $24 an hour, based on experience
- Monthly bonus based on how well you take care of customers and fill the schedule
- Health, dental, and vision at 60 days
- Paid time off
- Monday through Friday. This is not a rotating-shift call center.
- Real training. We use a proven phone system used by the best service companies in the country, and we will teach it to you line by line.
- A path forward. This seat leads to dispatch, to office lead, and to more as we open additional locations. New ownership took over in December 2025 and is investing in the team.
- A small office where people know your name, not a floor of 200 cubicles
- High school diploma or GED
- You are genuinely warm with people, including the ones who call in upset
- Clear, friendly speaking and writing
- Comfortable on a computer. We will teach you our software.
- Organized enough to keep a dozen things straight at once
- Dependable. When you are scheduled, you are here.
- Spanish is a plus, not a requirement
- No electrical experience needed. We can teach you electrical. We cannot teach you to be good with people.
If you have worked a front desk, a restaurant, a salon, retail, a doctor's office, or anywhere else that taught you to be genuinely good with people under pressure, you can do this job well.
