Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Distribution Center Order Selector to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment in a busy seafood warehouse environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, reliable, and comfortable operating heavy equipment and warehouse management systems. Responsibilities
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick and process customer orders.
- Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks safely to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking and packing tasks with attention to detail to ensure correct items are shipped on time.
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities, including verifying shipments and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Stock shelves efficiently by organizing products according to warehouse standards and ensuring proper storage practices.
- Conduct quality control checks on picked items to meet company standards for order accuracy and product integrity.
- Support warehouse distribution operations by loading and unloading trucks, handling heavy lifting, and ensuring safe materials handling procedures are followed.
Skills
- Experience operating reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment is essential.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners used for order picking and inventory control.
- Prior experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles is a plus but not required.
- Strong knowledge of materials handling, shipping & receiving processes, and order fulfillment procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude for understanding equipment operation and troubleshooting issues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking & packing.
