Meridian Cooperative is looking for an experienced Database Administrator II (DBA II) with 6-8 years of hands-on expertise in Oracle databases and cloud database platforms. The ideal candidate will be proficient in PL/SQL, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and automation, with exposure to AWS and OCI database services.
Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases across on-premises and cloud environments.
Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
Write intermediate-level shell scripts with loops, conditionals, error handling, and logging to automate tasks.
Design, implement, and validate backup/recovery strategies using RMAN; perform test recoveries and point-in-time recovery.
Monitor and analyze performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL Tuning Advisor; recommend indexing strategies.
Experience with provisioning and managing databases on AWS RDS, EC2-hosted Oracle, and OCI DB Systems/Autonomous Databases.
Implement security controls including roles, privileges, auditing policies, encryption (TDE), and user lifecycle management.
Participate in data modeling and schema design reviews; recommend partitioning, indexing, and structure improvements.
Perform routine Linux administration: file systems, permissions, process monitoring, and log rotation.
Collaborate with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver solutions.
Advanced PL/SQL Development: Strong skills in writing and tuning procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
Intermediate Shell Scripting: Proficient with conditionals, loops, parameterization, and logging.
Backup & Recovery Expertise: Solid hands-on experience with RMAN, Data Pump, cloning, and TSPITR scenarios.
Performance Tuning Fundamentals: Knowledge of explain plans, indexing, AWR/ASH reports, and SQL optimization.
Cloud Database Services: Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, EC2-hosted Oracle, and OCI Autonomous DB.
Database Security Knowledge: Understanding of RBAC, auditing, TDE/SSL, and compliance frameworks.
Data Modeling & Design: Knowledge of normalization, partitioning, schema optimization, and indexing strategies.
Linux/Unix Administration: Skilled in using ps, top, vmstat, iostat, file system management, and cron jobs.
Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
