Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities through personalized memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during transfers
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals and document all medication administration accurately
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control protocols and assisting with light housekeeping duties
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and behavioral management techniques
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training in safe patient lifting practices is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments enhances your suitability for this role
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while adhering to safety guidelines
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within caregiving environments
