Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) / Medical Technologist (MT)
Place of Performance: NNMC Laboratory Department- Shiprock, New Mexico
Compensation:
Shifts: May vary based on facility needs
Contract length: 1 year with extension option
Benefits:
Health and Welfare: $/hr (Up to 40 hours worked per week)
PTO: 5 days after 6 months, an additional 5 days at 1 year of service
Accrued sick days: 1 hour for every 36 hours worked
11 Paid Holidays: Following the Government calendar throughout the year
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) to provide inpatient and outpatient laboratory services at NNMC. The ideal candidate will be a skilled laboratory generalist with strong experience in high-complexity testing across multiple laboratory disciplines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field
Current professional certification (ASCP, AMT, AAB, or equivalent)
Minimum of 12 months of experience as a Generalist Medical Technologist
Experience performing CLIA high-complexity testing
Current BLS certification
Valid state driver's license
Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background requirements
Required Clinical Experience:
Important: Candidates without Blood Bank, Microbiology, and Phlebotomy experience should not be considered.
Responsibilities
Perform inpatient and outpatient laboratory testing across multiple disciplines
Perform testing in Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and Urinalysis
Collect, process, accession, and prepare patient specimens, including phlebotomy
Perform send-out testing and ensure proper specimen handling
Process and report accurate patient test results
Maintain compliance with laboratory quality control, safety, and regulatory standards
Document laboratory activities and results accurately in RPMS and EHR
Collaborate with healthcare providers and laboratory staff to support timely patient care
