Accounts Payable Supervisor
Location: West LA/Santa Monica- training onsite then hybrid thereafter
Compensation: $33-$36/hour
Employment Type: 4-6 Month Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview
The company is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee daily Accounts Payable operations while directly supervising a team of up to five AP professionals. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing, supporting the month-end close, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving process improvements in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of up to five Accounts Payable staff.
- Oversee daily Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payment execution.
- Manage the Accounts Payable month-end close process, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Monitor team workload, optimize workflows, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Accounts Payable policies, procedures, and deadlines.
- Review and process urgent payment requests while ensuring proper approvals and compliance.
- Support year-end audits by providing requested documentation and maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis for management.
- Act as the primary escalation point for internal and external Accounts Payable inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
- Participate in operational meetings and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of Accounts Payable experience with prior experience as an Accounts Payable Supervisoror Team Lead.
- Experience directly supervising, mentoring, and developing Accounts Payable staff.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, general ledger, chart of accounts, and accrual accounting.
- Experience managing high-volume invoice processing in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting French or Australian entities is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Basware, or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
