Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Closing Expo to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient closing of our restaurant each night. Your energy, organizational skills, and attention to detail will help us wrap up each shift seamlessly while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a lively environment where teamwork and enthusiasm are celebrated.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and food expediting to ensure all dishes are ready for service or closing
- Support food service operations by bussing tables, cleaning, and organizing dining areas during closing hours
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food handling, cooking, and plating procedures
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed during the closing process
- Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems to finalize transactions and reconcile cash drawers accurately
- Organize and store leftover food items following proper procedures for safety and quality control
- Help with general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing workstations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or restaurant environments is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and team members effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during busy closing shifts
- Basic numeracy skills for cash handling and POS system operation
- Organizational skills to manage cleaning schedules, inventory, and closing procedures
- Hospitality or culinary experience is a plus; banquet experience or food expediting background is beneficial
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift; physical stamina is essential
