Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, provide menus, and assist with seating arrangements to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation.
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Process cash, credit card transactions, and handle POS systems efficiently while maintaining accuracy in sales transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, bar area, and service stations; bus tables and reset for new guests promptly.
- Demonstrate excellent guest relations by addressing questions about menu items like wine knowledge or cocktail ingredients, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Follow food safety protocols and sanitation standards diligently to uphold health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues quickly.
- Assist with opening or closing duties as needed, including cash handling and inventory checks.
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS enhances efficiency in order processing.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse situations gracefully.
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service to provide expert recommendations.
- Experience in upselling menu items to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy periods to serve guests promptly without compromising quality.
- Food safety certification or knowledge of sanitation standards is desirable; basic math skills are essential for processing transactions accurately.
