Job Title: Fitness Instructor
Hours: 32 hours per week. Most hours are Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00AM and 4:00PM and an occasional Saturday from 8:30AM - 12:30PM.
Pay Range: $22.60 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Please note: Other duties may be assigned.)
- Conduct fitness assessments and develop individualized land and aquatic exercise programs to support residents' health and wellness goals.
- Lead safe, engaging group and one-on-one fitness classes for independent living, personal care, and skilled nursing residents.
- Monitor resident progress, modify exercise plans as needed, and communicate changes in health status to the interdisciplinary care team.
- Provide instruction on proper use of fitness and aquatic equipment while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming exercise environment.
- Serve as a certified lifeguard during aquatic programs and lead water-based fitness classes and assessments.
- Collaborate with the Fitness Director and healthcare team to enhance wellness programming and support resident and employee wellness initiatives.
- Maintain accurate resident fitness records and documentation while ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Assist with planning, evaluating, and improving fitness and aquatic programs, including wellness seminars and educational events.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, corporate compliance, and organizational policies and promptly report incidents or concerns.
Education , Experience and Requirements
- Degree from a four-year or two-year college or university in exercise science, physical education or related field preferred .
- Prior experience in fitness training environment with older adult population.
- Current CPR, Lifeguard Certification, fitness training certification and First Aid certification required.
