National Glazing Solutions (NGS) is a leading nationwide provider of commercial window film solutions, serving general contractors, building owners, property managers, and government agencies throughout the United States. We specialize in solar control, decorative, safety/security, bird strike, and specialty window film installations.
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in preparing accurate, competitive proposals while supporting our sales and project management teams.
Position Summary
The Estimator is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, obtaining pricing, and preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial window film projects. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for commercial window film projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, travel, and subcontractor costs.
- Request pricing from manufacturers and vendors.
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals and pricing packages.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Sales, and Operations to ensure estimates are accurate and complete.
- Identify potential risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
- Maintain estimating files and documentation for future reference.
- Track bid status and respond to contractor requests for clarification.
- Assist with budgeting and project cost forecasting.
- Maintain current knowledge of window film products, installation methods, and industry pricing.
- Participate in project handoff meetings following award of contracts.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
- Experience estimating commercial window film, glazing, specialty construction, architectural products, or similar trades strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience using Bluebeam, Hubspot, or similar estimating software preferred.
- Experience working with bid platforms such as BuildingConnected.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating nationwide commercial projects.
- Knowledge of commercial glazing or window film installation methods.
- Understanding of prevailing wage and government bid requirements is a plus.

Compensation
Estimated Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
