The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt consists of a 22-bed residential program nationally renowned for expert care. The Retreat is designed for patients seeking a comprehensive evaluation and intensive treatment experience in a psychotherapeutic milieu, unencumbered by the payment policies of third parties in order to give our residents a chance to make meaningful progress toward recovery.
Position shift: 40 hours/week between the hours of 7:00 am to 3:30pm and 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with biweekly weekends.
The Retreat offers an elegantly appointed setting in a specially renovated space on Sheppard Pratt's main campus in Towson (Baltimore County). Residents stay for an intermediate length of several weeks to several months. The Retreat embodies a multi-disciplinary treatment approach to a variety of psychiatric conditions that can be treated safely and effectively in a voluntary, unlocked environment. These psychiatric conditions may include mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders including substance-use disorders.
As a Mental Health Worker you will:
- Participate in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on patient behaviors.
- Provide direct patient care services in accordance with the treatment plan and under the direction of a professional nurse.
- Assist in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures
The pay range for this position is $19.06 minimum to $22.95 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED.
- Human Services related degree or past direct care or related experience strongly preferred.
- Must be available to work every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
- Must be available to attend 7-day mandatory clinical orientation training: Thursday, Friday and the following Monday through Friday (excluding Saturday & Sunday), 8:00am-4:30pm each day.
- In addition to the 7-day clinical orientation, you will be required to complete a 4-week unit orientation. During this time, you will be required to work 3-day shifts per week.
- A driver’s license with 3-points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
- Depending on assignment, must possess valid driver's license at time of appointment and must meet Sheppard Pratt requirements to operate a vehicle.
