Resident Engagement Director
About the Role
Maywood Supportive Living is seeking an engaging, compassionate, and organized Resident Engagement Director to join our team. In this role, you will create and lead meaningful programs that enrich the lives of our residents while promoting social engagement, physical wellness, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being.
The Resident Engagement Director plays a vital role in creating a vibrant community atmosphere by planning events, coordinating daily activities, and encouraging resident participation. This position also partners closely with residents, families, healthcare providers, and the interdisciplinary team to support residents' emotional well-being, social service needs, and overall quality of life. Working collaboratively with volunteers and community organizations, you will help foster a welcoming environment where every resident feels valued, connected, and empowered to enjoy each day.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of recreational, educational, social, spiritual, and wellness programs for residents.
- Coordinate daily activities, community outings, holiday celebrations, entertainment, and special events.
- Develop individualized and group activities that accommodate varying interests, abilities, and levels of independence.
- Encourage resident participation while promoting dignity, choice, independence, and meaningful engagement.
- Assist residents and families with social service needs by providing support, resources, advocacy, and referrals when appropriate.
- Collaborate with nursing, dietary, therapy, and other departments to develop resident-centered programming that supports each resident's overall well-being.
- Coordinate volunteers, entertainers, and community partnerships to enhance resident programming.
- Maintain activity calendars, attendance records, resident assessments, supply inventories, and required documentation.
- Gather resident and family feedback to continually improve programming and resident satisfaction.
- Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, inclusive, and resident-centered environment while following all applicable policies and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with older adults in supportive living, assisted living, senior living, healthcare, social services, or recreational programming.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Human Services, Gerontology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in activity programming, therapeutic recreation, event planning, or resident engagement.
- Knowledge of dementia-friendly, person-centered programming.
- Experience coordinating community partnerships, volunteers, and special events.
- Previous experience in resident advocacy, social services, or case management is a plus.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
