Duties
- Prepare, slice, package, and display a wide range of deli products with precision and care.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Assist customers by providing knowledgeable recommendations, upselling products, and answering inquiries about deli items.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, including food handling, bussing, and sanitation practices.
- Manage inventory levels by restocking displays, rotating products, and monitoring expiration dates to ensure freshness.
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities.
- Support food safety management protocols by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or retail sales within grocery stores or quick service restaurants.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for seamless checkout processes.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods efficiently.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Previous experience in café or restaurant environments is highly valued; culinary experience is a plus.
