Job Description
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Structural Welders / Rig Welders for a heavy industrial project in Dalton, GA. This position will support heavy lift and rigging operations involving structural steel, pipe welding, fabrication, equipment installation, and industrial maintenance repairs.
Candidates must be comfortable working in hot outdoor and industrial environments while supporting crane components, lifting gear, pipelines, and heavy-duty metal structures. This is a high-hours project with consistent overtime available.
We are hiring 16 welders immediately.
Job Duties
- Structural steel welding
- Pipe welding and fabrication
- Industrial maintenance and repair work
- Equipment installation
- MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
- Field/mobile welding support
- Fabrication of metal components and assemblies
- Repair and reinforcement of heavy-duty metal structures
- Working alongside rigging and heavy lift crews
- Reading blueprints and layout measurements
- Maintaining safe work practices on industrial job sites
Schedule & Compensation
- Pay Rate: $40/hr
- Overtime Rate: $81/hr
- Average Weekly Hours: 72 hours
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Per Diem: $178/day – 7 days per week

Required Tools & PPE
Candidates must provide their own welding tools and PPE including but not limited to:
- Welding machine (MIG, TIG, Stick)
- Welding leads and ground clamps
- Welding hood/helmet
- Welding gloves and leathers
- Chipping hammer and wire brush
- Angle grinders with grinding/cutting wheels
- Pipe beveling tools
- Clamps and vice grips
- Measuring tape and squares
- Levels and layout tools
- Torch/cutting setup
- Portable welding tables or stands
- Pry bars and hand tools
- Impact drill and bits
- Socket and wrench sets
- Extension cords/generators for field work
- Rigging tools for material handling
- Hard hat

Requirements
- Experience with structural steel and pipe welding
- Industrial or heavy commercial experience preferred
- Ability to work long hours and overtime
- Must pass:
- 5 Panel Drug Screen
- Basic Criminal Background Check
- Reliable transportation
- Strong safety mindset
