Purchasing Manager – Job Description
Role Overview
As the Purchasing Manager, you will be the strategic operational partner to the Chief Culinary Officer (CCO) and our Executive Chefs. Your primary mission is to protect and strengthen the group’s financial health through expert procurement, vendor management, and advanced systems oversight. We are looking for a tech-savvy specialist who can master and expand our use of MarginEdge to drive real-time profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Cost & Inventory Control: Negotiate top-tier pricing for all goods, with a heavy focus on high-volume proteins. Monitor food costs across all locations, investigate variances, and oversee monthly inventories to ensure teams stay at or below targets.
- Supplier & Contract Management: Oversee and develop contracts with key vendors (e.g., Chef’s Warehouse, Baldor, Nestle, EcoLab). Act as the primary point of contact for quality issues, supply reliability, and service negotiations.
- Systems Innovation (MarginEdge): Lead the expansion of MarginEdge. Responsibilities include inputting recipes for real-time costing, mapping Toast data for Usage vs. Sales analysis, managing EDI integrations, and identifying the best purchasing avenues through data.
- Durable Goods & FOH Support: Negotiate pricing and manage ordering for durable goods, packaging (e.g., Romanow, Bocks-Board), and FOH supplies with vendors like TriMark and WB Mason.
- Accounting Liaison: Reconcile monthly statements, manage the Amazon Business account, resolve late payment issues, and ensure all vendor credits are captured and utilized.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven background in hospitality procurement, supply chain, or high-volume kitchen management.
- Technical Proficiency: Must be highly tech-savvy with specific experience in MarginEdge, Toast POS
- Analytical Skills: Ability to translate complex invoice data and inventory counts into actionable financial reports.
- Communication: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to act as a bridge between chefs, vendors, and the accounting team.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
