University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to help support the UPMC Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Bethel Park, PA. This office is located across from South Hills Village Mall and provides free parking.
In this role, you will work Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm assisting with a mix of clinical and administrative duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs, and downloading insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor data. Previous experience in patient care and taking vital signs is strongly preferred. At times, this position will also help support other specialties including rheumatology and pulmonology.
The initial training for this position will take place at Falk Clinic in Oakland, PA. This training typically lasts 2 weeks.
Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the Medical Assistant Career Ladder, based on their individual experience and education.
Responsibilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
