The Solomon Organization is seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Manager who has passion for service and a commitment to excellence. This position is responsible for directing and overseeing the overall operations of the apartment communities within their region. You will need to be well versed with sales, marketing, and analytical reporting, with the goal to produce the maximum cash flow and improve the property’s long-term value. The portfolio of properties include McHenry and Naperville Illinois, so the candidate should be willing to travel frequently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop the annual budgets for properties comprising the assigned portfolio and overseeing attainment of budgeted goals by analyzing and evaluating financial statements
- Ensuring the portfolio and individual communities meet the established operational, financial, and business performance goals by inspecting properties, reviewing financial, market, and operational reports, and developing and implementing appropriate action plans to achieve results.
- Prove leadership to the team of community managers by interviewing, hiring, and training team members, and by managing their performance in accordance with company policies, values, and business practices.
- Reviewing market data to identify emerging trends that may impact the performance of the portfolio and working with managers on marketing strategies
- Completing various human resources, financial, administrative and other reports and analysis, and perform other duties as assigned or necessary
JOB REQUIRMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Must have previous experience as a Regional Property Manager of a market-rate portfolio
- Must have the ability to travel frequently
- Must have a firm understanding and working knowledge of executive management functions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
