Position Summary
Nova Custom Glass is seeking an experienced Glass Fabricator / Installer to join our team. This position combines shop fabrication and field installation work, with a focus on residential glass projects including insulated glass replacements, custom mirrors, shower enclosures, and specialty glass applications.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong measuring skills, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Measure openings accurately to within 1/16" for insulated glass units, mirrors, storm windows, doors, and other glass applications.
- Identify and properly document out-of-square and irregular opening conditions.
- Create templates and patterns for specialty-shaped glass when required.
- Safely remove and replace broken glass and insulated glass units in vinyl, aluminum, and storm windows, mirrored doors, patio tables, and similar applications.
- Fabricate glass and mirrors in the shop using hand tools and standard glass fabrication equipment.
- Assist with the installation of shower enclosures, mirrors, replacement glass, and other residential glass products.
- Maintain safe work practices and a clean work environment.
QualificationsRequired
- Experience measuring and ordering replacement glass products.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and consistently.
- Experience with glass handling, cutting, and fabrication of 1/16"–3/8" glass and mirror.
- Familiarity with common hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and move glass safely.
Required Experience
- 2+ years of glass installation experience.
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of construction experience.
- Frameless shower enclosure experience.
- Commercial glazing experience.
- Experience creating templates for irregular glass shapes.
