Position Summary
The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s physical building and systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for all guests and team members. This position involves preventive maintenance, repairs, and responding to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, systems, and facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Conduct daily inspections of building systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Complete work orders and respond to guest or staff maintenance requests promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop, tools, and storage areas.
- Perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas as scheduled.
- Assist with groundskeeping duties, such as snow removal, landscaping, and trash pickup.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and security procedures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and parts, reporting needs to management.
- Support hotel staff in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for guests.
- Assist with special projects, renovations, and equipment installations as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related field (hospitality experience a plus).
- Working knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
