Perform various construction and general carpentry tasks to accomplish project goals and objectives. Oversee and lead a team of workers as required.

- Perform construction and general carpentry tasks as assigned by Supervisor
- Work on a team towards the completion of assigned work orders and projects in a timely, professional manner
- Assist other departments in project completion
- Other duties as assigned
- Assistance with special work projects, preparation, maintenance and clean-up
- Manage relevant inventory of construction tools, equipment, building supplies, products and chemicals
- Inspect work of student team members and maintain quality work standards
- Compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies and best management practices
- Participate in campus safety training
- Proficient knowledge in framing, finish carpentry, painting, and drywall
- General knowledge in other construction trades
- Proficient skill in proper use of carpentry hand tools, bench tools and large shop equipment
- Able to analyze, organize, schedule, implement and coordinate a variety of work assignments
- Able to communicate tasks to be accomplished to work-study students understandably and cordially
- Professional and able to work with faculty, staff, students and guests
- Positive attitude toward problem solving and project completion
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend and reach in the normal operation of carpentry activities
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs routinely and climb ladders and stairs without assistance
- Occasional use of lift equipment
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons
- Must be able to work within contact and exposure to industry standard construction chemicals
- Must be able to work within different industry normal air quality environments
- High school diploma or higher
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past three years
- 4-6 years general carpentry / construction experience
- Lift operators training certification (current or within 1 year of employment)
